Wrestling has historical roots in Georgia and in 2018 Georgian wrestling tradition or Chidaoba was added to UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage list.
Another typical historical Georgian sport was Polo or Lelo, very similar to and later replaced with Rugby.
Khridoli is a type of martial arts typical for Mountainous Georgia, still practiced by locals and followers.
